Who we are
Halcyon Ranch is owner-operated and grounded in a life shaped by public service, education, and the work of building and scaling mission-oriented companies. The ranch’s owner is a graduate of Tarleton State University (’96), the University of Houston–Clear Lake (’99), and Texas A&M University (’06), where he earned a Ph.D.
Before establishing Halcyon Ranch, he spent decades working in public education as a teacher, principal, district leader, and adjunct professor, followed by leadership roles in organizations focused on education and long-term impact. Those experiences inform how the ranch is approached, thoughtfully, deliberately, and without unnecessary complexity.
Halcyon Ranch is not a commercial enterprise or a lifestyle brand. It is a place intentionally maintained, where land is managed responsibly, animals are cared for properly, and time is spent doing real work that matters. The focus is stewardship and respect for the land rather than expansion or volume.
The ranch is meant to be shared with sons, a place to spend time together, to work side by side, and to learn through doing the work.
